How to Get a Date
The first thing that you must do before you can have a date is of
course, ask someone out.
Traditionally, it was only men who
would ask ladies out. However, these days it's much more common place,
and definitely acceptable for ladies to make the move and ask someone
out on a date.
So what would you do so that you can get a date in time for the big
event? Moreover, what should you do so that you will not be rejected
when you ask them out?
Tips on How to Get a Date / How to Ask Someone Out
1. Don't Stress Out
Asking someone out is not
really as hard as it seems. It's really just a simple question after
all!
The hardest part of asking someone out, is bracing yourself for
possible rejection, and knowing how to handle rejection if they say no.
What you need to keep in mind is that "no" doesn't mean that you're
not a wonderful person! "No" means that they don't know what they are
missing out on! If you get a 'no', it's simply a flag to tell you to ask
another person who will say "Yes".
2. Be Confident
The more confident you are when you ask someone out, the more people
will think about saying yes. You need to ooze confidence, and show
genuine interest in them.
3. Ask the Person Out as a Friend
If you're not sure if the other
person has a crush on you, you could take the approach of asking them
out as a friend.
Try to be yourself as you ask somebody to go out with you. It is best
that you do it in a casual way, just like a friend asking another friend
to go to the movies or go to the mall.
Something like asking them out for a coffee or for a bite to eat
would be casual enough, and is a non-threatening one-on-one situation.
You could also do the group-approach,
where you organise to go out with a bunch of friends, and you get the
opportunity to approach the person you really like. This also allows you
to suss out if they like you too.
4. When You Only Have A Fleeting Opportunity to Ask Someone Out -
Just Do It!
Sometimes you might just 'click' with someone, and you've only just
met. You might not get another opportunity to get to know them.
You have NOTHING to lose. Just ask them out for a coffee! |
